Coloring quiet books, & FHE

Image
I have been trying to find easy quiet books for church. We struggle to stay the entire time and I have found a couple coloring pages that might make it easier on us. First, I came across this gem and couldn't get off the internet for 2 hours.  I printed off shapes, alphabet and numbers. I will be printing off church coloring pictures and adding in pages from the Friend Magazine . I have also decided that now is the time to have Family Home Evening. I have made a FHE book. It has stories, pictures and games. I made it out of Friend magazines . ( Click here to see. ) But I couldn't help what the Family Home Evening Resource book was all about. What was in it? Was it easy to use? Was it so old, no one cared anymore? By looking at it, it is old, but old things are great, Right? I thumbed through it last night, and I am super excited to use it. I can't wait! Monday night is not getting here fast enough! Loaded with lessons, games, activities, treats, puzzles, songs, etc. FH...

Camping with the Babes!

Image
This last weekend we had a blast going camping at Cherry Hills and Swimming at Cowabunga Bay! It was a great start to a fabulous summer! I am, however, grateful that we did a trial run of camping with Sadie. She slept horribly, was a little cranky and I learned that I need to pack more thoroughly! I have come up with a list of needed items to have for baby. Clothes Outfits Pj's Swimsuit and towel Blankets (3) Towel and washcloth Shampoo Lotion Formula Bottles Spoons Baby Food Pack and Play Sippy Cups Diapers Wipes toys bibs I also have some camping gear that not everyone has but I would recommend getting:  Formula Divider  Camping High Chair (total life saver). If you don't have a high chair a bumbo will work also! If you are looking for a list of what to pack your self as well than check out Happier Happenings blog ! Also for more Ideas check out my Pintrest Board: Check back on Monday for my quiet book ideas! ...

Weekend Fun!

Image
Our weekends fly bye and because they do we try to make the best of them. Look around your area and try and find things that are unique to you. For example we a fresh water spring in our community. My husband has loved going to it since he was a little boy and calls it the tree of life! I also have come up with 10 fun free things to do with your kids, regardless of age! Backyard campfire/or campout: Pitch that tent and build a fire! As a kid, me and my brothers loved sleeping outside, and now we love having a campfire. Backyard movie. Pick a family favorite (Sandlot, Hook, Rookie of the Year, Cars, Toy Story etc.) Blow up an air mattress and watch that movie Drive Inn Style. Walking trails or Hiking Trails. Living in Ogden we have so many trails around our beautiful mountains. Easy, medium or hard trails are everywhere. Go to the park. Get those kiddos exercising. Swinging, slides, climbing, chasing, the list is endless. Feeding Ducks. I have 2 duck ponds close to me, and ye...

Just because General Conference is over doesn't mean it can be forgotten about! There are several ways that you can review General Conference! Listen or watch on your computer! Click  here  to get to the website! Listen while you exercise! I do this while I am on the treadmill and I get through 2-3 talks by the time I am done! While you listen follow along in the Ensign. Highlight points that stand out to you. Write personal revelation you received while listening. If you took notes durning conference review your notes and see what you can add to them. Book to read

I like to read. I won't say love because it has to be a good book for me to really be into. I am going to recommend on reading "For Times of Trouble" by Jeffery R. Holland. It is amazing and it has helped me really see that life is full of problems but it is our attitude on our problems that make the difference.

Family Home Evening Binder

Image
Sorry I haven't posted things for a while, I have been helping my family move, and in the mean time found a great project to work on. My mom had some really old Friend Magazines. I took them and remembered the Idea I saw from Printrest. The magazines where taken apart and categorized for FHE. The link is here . I modified it to fit my needs, and to make it fit in one binder. First is the Fun Stuff  Then the Proclamation to the World  Articles of faith  Tabs to organize it The front of the stories Pioneer Stories New Testament Stories Christmas Easter The middle of the magazines there was board games that I glued to file folders I love my Laminator and When I saw the cards for the board games, had to laminate them!  Sites I got stuff from: lds.org  Scriptures Stories Articles Of Faith Just remember you don't have to reinvent FHE it is already easy and ready for you! Enjoy!
